The route weaves through Clerkenwell and Farringdon, as you listen to the stories and history behind London’s pub along with a couple of pints along the way. Where could you find the last beer before a Newgate execution ? Why are ghosts and spirits kept at bay in one particular (and very cosy) bar. Discover the reason why some pubs are hidden away in certain parts of London.Without our traditional pints the city probably wouldn’t have survived, as back in the day Londoner’s were drinking it in place of water, and don’t let’s get started on the joys of a pie. When an oyster was as cheap as a chip, the Victorians were stuffing them under crusts, with a drop of stout to improve the gravy. Yes, we understand a pie. The crust is just a vehicle for holding in deliciousness.The tour heads off from the Viaduct Tavern in Newgate Street, and there will be a maximum of eight people in your group.
